Celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage

The Cultural heritage of the Zampogna for celebrating the 10th anniversary of the ICH Convention.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the ICH Convention, the Cultural Association “Circolo della Zampogna” organized in Scapoli (Molise region) a lecture on the Convention with the participation of the speakers:

  • Letizia Bindi, anthropologist (University of Molise)
  • Vincenzo Lombardi, ethnomusicologist (Director of Provincial Library of Campobasso)
  • Mauro Gioielli, folklorist (Director of Utriculus, Association’s magazine)
  • Alessandro Testa, PhD in Anthropology (University of Messina, Sicily)

coordinated by Antonietta Caccia, President of the “Circolo”.

The initiative took place in the ambit of the “Bagpipers Spring Meeting” that the “Circolo” organizes every year (at the end of April) on the occasion of its Annual Assembly with the attendance of persons concerned, members and not only, scholars and researchers, besides more general public.

The event was concluded by a concert with the performances of the young pupils of the Musical School for Zampogna founded by the “Circolo”, of traditional players from Lazio, Abruzzo, Campania and Basilicata besides from Scapoli and other places of Molise region.
The other ICHnet organizations -accredited to UNESCO- like Associazione Totarella, Associazione Multietnica Europea, Associazione Carpinofolkfestival, participated in the event.
